Quest 2 - Virtual Reality Interest and Orientation In-Person

The Moody Media Lab has a variety of equipment that is available to the campus community with just a brief consultation, but how do some of these fancy toys work? In our Friday lab series, get to know the basics of our equipment on offer and learn about the exciting creative opportunities that can open up in your class or your everyday interests!

It's been a big few years for the metaverse! Baylor has invested in the future of work and play with the ELC's collection of Quest 2 headsets that are available for reserved play in the ELC to any member of the Baylor community. This interest and orientation session will teach you the basics of setting up a space for tetherless VR and approve you for access and use of our Quest 2 headsets. This is also a chance to play some of the experiences we currently offer and discuss your interests so the ELC can make future investments in software and hardware. Completion of this workshop will give you authorized access to reserve and use our Quest 2 headsets in the Experiential Learning Commons!

After this workshop you will:

  • Understand the basics of operating in Virtual Reality in the Meta Quest interface.
  • Experience various offerings from the Moody Media Lab and how to request new experiences.
  • Be approved to access the Quest 2 reservation system.

This workshop is intended for any member of the Baylor community interested in extended realities including undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff.
