Collaborative Postcard Project 2026

Inspired by a Tampa Book Arts Postcard Project portfolio that we received as part of a large donation from the Richard Mathews family, we are holding our first collaborative postcard project for the Spring 2026 semester.

By registering online, you are committing to creating 20 postcards in the Baylor Book Arts & Letterpress Lab during the semester. You can print type or images on our presses, create a linocut for printing, duplicate using the Risograph, or any other techniques you have learned in the lab. All cards will be a standard 4x6 in size, and need only to be printed on one side -- they do not need to "look like" a postcard on the reverse side nor do they need to be a heavyweight paper for mailing. While these could be used as postcards in the end, that is not the ultimate goal.

The deadline for submitting your postcards will be Monday, April 27, at which point the lab staff will eagerly admire everyone's work and sort the submissions so that everyone will receive 20 cards created by other participants.

On Monday, May 4 from 3-5pm (a drop-in event), you can come claim your new art collection and cut and fold the printed portfolio that we will have created for you.

We can provide 25 sheets of an 80lb. off-white cover paper for your postcards if you would like, but you would need to pay for any additional sheets or provide specialized paper you might want for your particular project. Other materials that we have in the lab are available for you to use.

The lab staff will be participating as well, and we cannot wait to see everyone's creations!
