Research Data Management In-Person

This workshop is a general overview of research data management using the UK Data Life Cycle as the framework.  We will discuss the importance of proper data management and learn about tips and tools to help you do so.

After attending this workshop you will be able to

  • use your research plan involving research methods, research techniques, and data outputs to inform your data management plan
  • distinguish between raw data vs. processed data vs. analyzed data
  • organize your data using appropriate folder stuctures and file naming conventions
  • maintain your data properly and safely while you work on your project
  • preserve and archive your data in appropriate formats after the project is over
  • document your data for future use by yourself, your research team, and others
  • find a repository where you can deposit your data
