CAS is replacing SciFinder with SciFinder-n. Access to the original SciFinder platform will not extend past 2020.
Darry French from CAS coming on February 26-27 to train Baylor researchers on how to use the new SciFinder-n.
About SciFinder-n
Before using SciFinder-n the first time, you must create a personal account. Once the account has been created, you can access SciFinder-n. Established SciFinder accounts work in SciFinder-n.
Provides access to the CAplus database of chemical literature and U.S. and foreign chemical-related patents, to CASREACT, CHEMLIST and CHEMCATS, to the registry database from Chemical Abstracts Service, and to Medline. Includes journal articles, book chapters, patents, conference proceedings, technical reports, substance database, and dissertations covered in Chemical Abstracts as well as articles currently being indexed, book reviews and biographical information.
Search for reference materials by keyword, author, organization, journal, CAS RN, patent, or structure. Filter by relevance, document type, substance role, language, year, author, organization, publication name, concept, or formulation purpose. Search substances by keyword, substance name, CAS RN, patent number, molecular formula, substance property, experimental spectra or chemical structure. FIlter by commercial availability, reaction role, reference role, number of components, substance class, isotopes, metals, molecular weight, experimental property, experimental spectrum, regulatory information, bioactivity indicator, or target indicator. Search reaction by keyword, substance name, CAS RN, patent number or structure. Filter by substance role, yield, number of steps, non-participating functional groups, experimental protocols, reaction type, stereochemistry, reagent, catalyst, solvent, commercial availability or reaction notes. Search for suppliers by substance name, CAS RN, or structure. Filter by supplier, purity, quantity, shipping time, stock status, or country.
