Totally 90s Digital Practice Week - HTML Workshop In-Person / Online
The 90s were a totally radical time! Especially the radical shifts in the way we communicate through the rise of the world wide web and the increasing accessibility of new and improved digital tools. Join the Experiential Learning Commons in exploring a variety of digital creative practices that had their big break in the totally tubular 90s!
HyperText Markup Language is a child of the 90s through and through. Developed in 1993 and standardized in 1995, HTML is the standard markup language for web browsers. Do a quick right click on this page and select "view page source" and - what's that? - HTML! In this workshop we'll learn the basics of creating a web page with HTML and work to build an "about me" page pulled straight off of a GeoCities site you may have visited after checking out the amazing Space Jam website.
After this workshop you will:
- Know the basic HTML tags used to build out a functioning website.
- Develop an understanding of web design and databases.
- Have a cool "about me" page you could add to your new website you've linked in your AIM profile.
This workshop is intended for any member of the Baylor community interested in creative practice including students, faculty, and staff.
