Making Accessible Social Media Posts In-Person / Online

When it comes to social media, why wouldn't you want to ensure that you communicate to the widest possible audience? Why wouldn't you want to think of and address the needs of all of your friends and loved ones that may access social media, and digital media in general? Join us in exploring the options and opportunities to make your social media posts more accessible through practices and techniques available through various social media applications.

After this workshop you will:

  • Understand the basic principles of inclusive design.
  • Possess a list of accessibility tools and applications you can incorporate into your media practices.
  • Have practiced forms of inclusive design and accessibility with techniques like Alt Text, Voice Recognition, Color Contrast, and more.
  • Know about the accessibility options offered in major social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and more.

This workshop is intended for any member of the Baylor community interested in building a more inclusive internet including undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff.
