Embase Training In-Person / Online
Irakli Samkurashvili from Elsevier will be on campus for Embase Training.
Embase is a database of biomedical evidence from published, peer-reviewed literature, in-press publications and conference abstracts. It is particularly strong in European and international literature. It has 30 million+ records from 8 500+ currently published journals. Embase includes six million+ records and 2 700+ journals that are not covered by MEDLINE. Embase also has very developed and easy to use user interface which makes querying the database fast and efficient for the researchers in biomedical field.
During this session, participants will learn how to
-
search Embase for biomedical literature (using both basic and advanced methods)
-
search Embase using indexed terms (why this is important and how it increases the specificity of your searches)
-
search Embase using the PICO framework (how to simplify complex questions when querying the database)
-
organize your searches (save queries, export search results, etc.);
