DESCRIPTION:The Baylor Libraries Author Series highlights publications by 
 Baylor-affiliated authors selected by the Dean of Libraries\, Museums\, and 
 the Press. The Dean's latest selection is "Remembering Antônia Teixeira: A 
 Story of Missions\, Violence\, and Institutional Hypocrisy" by Dr. João 
 Chaves\, Assistant Professor of the History of Religion in the Américas\, 
 and Dr. Mikeal Parsons\, University Distinguished Professor and Kidd L. & 
 Buna Hitchcock Macon Professor of Religion. The authors will be joined in a 
 conversation about their recent publication by Dr. Beth Barr\, The James 
 Vardaman Endowed Professor of History.\n\nThe conversation will take place 
 on Tuesday\, September 24\, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Schumacher Flex 
 Commons on the first floor of Moody Memorial Library\nand online via Zoom 
 Webinar. A reception and book signing with the authors will follow the 
 conversation. Copies of "Remembering Antônia Teixeria" will be available
