Design & Data Lab

Description

The Design & Data Lab includes Dell Precision workstations for twelve (12) students and a rolling screen for projection. Computers have a custom suite of software to support instruction for makerspace, media, production, and data scholarship activities. Bring your own laptop and HDMI cable to connect to the projector and screen. 

Software includes many departmental design and modeling tools, including Autodesk suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketchup, Solidworks, Rhinoceros 3D, Cura and drivers for select makerspace tools. (Hardware and Software Spec Sheet).

Space is not intended for recurring courses or general computer-based instruction, but specific coursework, assignments, or workshops that utilize the unique hardware and software provided. To book the Design & Data Lab, email ELC@baylor.edu, and include the date, time, and purpose. Reservation requests reviewed by Experiential Learning Managers. Only requests within the scope of the lab will be approved. Lab remains open access when there is no current booking.
